Notice of Revision to Terms and Conditions for Accommodation (Effective October 1, 2026)
Our hotel will revise its Terms and Conditions for Accommodation effective Thursday, October 1, 2026.

Scope of Application (Article 1)

  1. 1. Accommodation contracts and related agreements (including contracts for day use, hereinafter collectively referred to as "Accommodation" or "Accommodation Contract") entered into between Hotel Metropolitan Kamakura (hereinafter referred to as "the Hotel") and the Guest shall be governed by these Terms and Conditions. Any matters not provided for herein shall be governed by laws and regulations (laws, regulations, or matters based thereon; the same shall apply hereinafter) or generally established customs.
  2. 2. If the Hotel enters into a special agreement with the Guest that does not violate laws, regulations, or customs, such special agreement shall take precedence over the provisions of the preceding paragraph, notwithstanding the provisions thereof.

Application for Accommodation Contract (Article 2)

  1. 1. A person who intends to apply for an Accommodation Contract with the Hotel shall notify the Hotel of the following particulars:
    1. (1) Name(s) of the Guest(s);
    2. (2) Date(s) of accommodation and estimated time of arrival;
    3. (3) Accommodation charges (in principle, calculated based on ① Basic Accommodation Charge, ② Service Charge, and ③ Consumption Tax listed in Attached Table 1);
    4. (4) Other matters deemed necessary by the Hotel.
  2. 2. If a Guest requests to extend their stay beyond the date specified in Subparagraph (2) of the preceding paragraph during their stay, the Hotel shall process such request as a new application for an Accommodation Contract at the time the request is made.

Establishment of Accommodation Contract, etc. (Article 3)

  1. 1. An Accommodation Contract shall be established when the Hotel accepts the application described in the preceding article. However, this shall not apply if the Hotel proves that it did not accept the application.
  2. 2. When an Accommodation Contract is established pursuant to the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the Guest shall pay an application deposit specified by the Hotel by the date designated by the Hotel.
  3. 3. The application deposit shall first be applied to the final accommodation charges payable by the Guest. In the event that circumstances arise requiring the application of Article 8 or Article 21, it shall be applied first to penalty charges and then to compensation. Any remaining balance shall be refunded at the time of payment of charges pursuant to Article 15.
  4. 4. If the application deposit set forth in Paragraph 2 is not paid by the designated date, the Accommodation Contract shall lose its validity. However, this shall apply only if the Hotel notified the Guest of the payment deadline when specifying it.

Special Agreement Waiving Application Deposit (Article 4)

  1. 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph 2 of the preceding Article, the Hotel may enter into a special agreement waiving the requirement for an application deposit after the contract has been established.
  2. 2. If the Hotel does not request the payment of an application deposit as set forth in Paragraph 2 of the preceding Article, or does not specify a payment deadline when accepting an application for an Accommodation Contract, it shall be treated as having agreed to the special agreement described in the preceding paragraph.

Request for Cooperation with Infection Prevention Measures at the Facility (Article 5)

The Hotel may request cooperation from a person intending to stay pursuant to Article 4-2, Paragraph 1 of the Inns and Hotels Act (Act No. 138 of 1948).

Refusal of Accommodation Contract (Article 6)

The Hotel may refuse to enter into an Accommodation Contract in the following cases. However, this Article does not imply that the Hotel may refuse accommodation in cases other than those listed in Article 5 of the Inns and Hotels Act.

  1. (1) When the application for accommodation does not comply with these Terms and Conditions;
  2. (2) When the Hotel is fully booked and no rooms are available;
  3. (3) When the person intending to stay is deemed likely to act in violation of laws and regulations, public order, or good morals regarding their stay;
  4. (4) When the person intending to stay is recognized as falling under any of the following items (a) through (c):
    1. a. An organized crime group as defined in Article 2, Item 2 of the Act on Prevention of Unreasonable Acts by Organized Crime Group Members (Act No. 77 of 1991) (hereinafter referred to as an "Organized Crime Group"), an organized crime group member as defined in Article 2, Item 6 of the same Act (hereinafter referred to as an "Organized Crime Group Member"), an associate member of an organized crime group, an affiliate of an organized crime group, or any other anti-social force;
    2. b. A corporation or other organization whose business activities are controlled by an Organized Crime Group or an Organized Crime Group Member;
    3. c. A corporation that has an Organized Crime Group Member among its officers.
  5. (5) When the person intending to stay conducts themselves in a manner that causes significant annoyance or nuisance to other guests;
  6. (6) When the person intending to stay is a patient or person with a specified infectious disease as defined in Article 4-2, Paragraph 1, Item 2 of the Inns and Hotels Act;
  7. (7) When the person intending to stay commits violent demands or requests a burden that exceeds a reasonable scope against the Hotel or its employees (excluding cases where the person requests the removal of social barriers pursuant to Article 7, Paragraph 2 or Article 8, Paragraph 2 of the Act for Eliminating Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities [Act No. 65 of 2013]);
  8. (8) When the person intending to stay repeatedly makes demands specified in Article 5-6 of the Enforcement Regulations of the Inns and Hotels Act as demands that impose an excessive burden on the Hotel and may significantly impede the provision of accommodation services to other guests;
  9. (9) When the person intending to stay is recognized as committing assault, injury, threats, extortion, coercive unreasonable demands, or similar acts;
  10. (10) When the person intending to stay is recognized as engaging in customer harassment;
  11. (11) When minors stay without the permission of a parent or guardian;
  12. (12) When the Hotel is unable to provide accommodation due to natural disasters, facility breakdowns, or other unavoidable circumstances;
  13. (13) When the stay falls under grounds specified by ordinances or regulations enforcing the Inns and Hotels Act established by the local governments where the Hotel is located.

Explanation of Refusal to Conclude Accommodation Contract (Article 7)

The person intending to stay may request an explanation from the Hotel if the Hotel refuses to enter into an Accommodation Contract based on the preceding Article.

Guest's Right to Cancel Contract (Article 8)

  1. 1. The Guest may cancel the Accommodation Contract by notifying the Hotel.
  2. 2. If the Guest cancels the Accommodation Contract in whole or in part due to reasons attributable to the Guest (except when the Hotel specified a payment deadline for the application deposit pursuant to Article 3, Paragraph 2 and requested payment, and the Guest cancelled before making payment), the Hotel shall collect penalty fees as listed in Attached Table 2. However, if the Hotel agreed to a special agreement pursuant to Article 4, Paragraph 1, this shall apply only if the Hotel informed the Guest of the obligation to pay a penalty fee upon cancellation.
  3. 3. If the Guest does not arrive by 8:00 p.m. on the day of stay (or 2 hours after the estimated time of arrival if specified in advance) without contacting the Hotel, the Hotel may treat the Accommodation Contract as having been cancelled by the Guest.

Hotel's Right to Cancel Contract (Article 9)

  1. 1. The Hotel may cancel the Accommodation Contract in the following cases:
    1. (1) When the Guest is recognized as likely to commit or has committed acts in violation of laws and regulations, public order, or good morals regarding their stay;
    2. (2) When the Guest is recognized as falling under any of the following items (a) through (c):
      1. a. An Organized Crime Group, an Organized Crime Group Member, an associate member of an organized crime group, an affiliate of an organized crime group, or any other anti-social force;
      2. b. A corporation or other organization whose business activities are controlled by an Organized Crime Group or an Organized Crime Group Member;
      3. c. A corporation that has an Organized Crime Group Member among its officers.
    3. (3) When the Guest conducts themselves in a manner that causes significant annoyance or nuisance to other guests;
    4. (4) When the Guest is a patient or person with a specified infectious disease;
    5. (5) When violent demands or requests exceeding a reasonable scope are made regarding the stay (excluding cases where the Guest requests the removal of social barriers pursuant to Article 7, Paragraph 2 or Article 8, Paragraph 2 of the Act for Eliminating Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities);
    6. (6) When the Guest repeatedly makes demands specified in Article 5-6 of the Enforcement Regulations of the Inns and Hotels Act as demands that impose an excessive burden on the Hotel and may significantly impede the provision of accommodation services to other guests;
    7. (7) When minors stay without parental/guardian consent, or when such a stay is discovered;
    8. (8) When the Guest is recognized as committing assault, injury, threats, extortion, coercive unreasonable demands, or similar acts;
    9. (9) When the Guest is recognized as engaging in customer harassment;
    10. (10) When the Hotel is unable to provide accommodation due to force majeure, such as natural disasters;
    11. (11) When the stay falls under grounds specified by ordinances or regulations enforcing the Inns and Hotels Act established by the local governments where the Hotel is located;
    12. (12) When the Guest smokes in a non-smoking area;
    13. (13) When the Guest fails to observe prohibited matters set forth in the Hotel Use Rules, such as smoking in bed, tampering with firefighting equipment, or other restricted activities.
  2. 2. If the Hotel cancels the Accommodation Contract pursuant to the provisions of the preceding paragraph, charges for accommodation services that have not yet been provided to the Guest may be waived.

Explanation of Cancellation of Accommodation Contract (Article 10)

The Guest may request an explanation from the Hotel if the Hotel cancels the Accommodation Contract based on the preceding Article.

Registration of Accommodation (Article 11)

  1. 1. On the day of stay, the Guest shall register the following particulars at the Hotel's Front Desk:
    1. (1) Guest's name, address, and contact information;
    2. (2) For foreign nationals who do not have a residence address in Japan, nationality and passport number;
    3. (3) Date of departure;
    4. (4) Other matters deemed necessary by the Hotel.
  2. 2. Foreign nationals who do not have a residence address in Japan will be requested to present their passport, and a copy thereof will be made by the Hotel.
  3. 3. If the Guest intends to pay the charges set forth in Article 15 using accommodation vouchers, credit cards, QR code payments, electronic money, or other methods replacing currency, these shall be presented in advance at the time of registration set forth in the preceding paragraph.

Occupancy Hours of Guest Rooms (Article 12)

  1. 1. The Guest may occupy the guest room from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m. the following day. However, in the case of consecutive stays, the Guest may occupy the room all day, except on the arrival and departure dates. Please note that even at 3:00 p.m. when room usage begins, guests may be asked to wait briefly due to room cleaning or maintenance.
  2. 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the Hotel may accommodate guest room usage outside the hours specified in the same paragraph upon request, subject to prescribed additional charges. Additional charges vary depending on the room type and extension duration. Please note that requests may be declined if the Hotel is fully booked or under other circumstances.
  3. 3. The hours specified in Paragraph 1 may be temporarily changed when necessary. In such cases, guests will be notified by appropriate means.

Compliance with Use Rules (Article 13)

Guests shall comply with the Hotel Use Rules established by the Hotel and posted within the premises.

Business Hours (Article 14)

The business hours of the Hotel's main facilities shall be posted in various locations throughout the Hotel. Please note that business hours may be temporarily changed out of necessity. In such cases, guests will be notified by appropriate means.

Payment of Charges (Article 15)

  1. 1. The breakdown of accommodation charges, etc., payable by the Guest is as set forth in Attached Table 1.
  2. 2. Payment of accommodation charges set forth in the preceding paragraph shall be made at the Front Desk at the time of departure or upon request by the Hotel, using currency (Japanese Yen only) or methods acceptable to the Hotel, such as accommodation vouchers, credit cards, QR code payments, or electronic money. Special arrangements may be considered under exceptional circumstances.
  3. 3. Accommodation charges will be billed once a room has been made available to the Guest, even if the Guest voluntarily chooses not to stay.

Liability of the Hotel (Article 16)

  1. 1. The Hotel shall compensate the Guest for any damages incurred due to the performance or non-performance of the Accommodation Contract and related agreements. However, this shall not apply if the damage is due to reasons not attributable to the Hotel.
  2. 2. The Hotel is covered by Hotel Liability Insurance in order to deal with unexpected fires or emergencies.

Handling when Contracted Guest Room Cannot be Provided (Article 17)

  1. 1. If the Hotel is unable to provide the contracted room to the Guest, it shall, with the Guest's consent, arrange other accommodation under the same or similar conditions to the extent possible.
  2. 2. If the Hotel is unable to arrange alternative accommodation notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, it shall pay the Guest a compensation fee equivalent to the penalty fee, which shall be applied to the damage compensation amount. However, if the inability to provide a room is not due to reasons attributable to the Hotel, no compensation fee will be paid.

Handling of Deposited Items, etc. (Article 18)

  1. 1. The Hotel shall compensate for loss, damage, or destruction of articles, cash, or valuables deposited by the Guest at the Front Desk, except in cases of force majeure. However, for cash and valuables, if the Guest fails to declare the type and value thereof when requested by the Hotel, compensation shall be limited to a maximum of 150,000 yen, unless the loss or damage is due to intentional misconduct or gross negligence by the Hotel.
  2. 2. For articles, cash, or valuables brought into the Hotel by the Guest that were not deposited at the Front Desk, the Hotel shall compensate for damage, loss, or destruction caused by intentional misconduct or negligence on the part of the Hotel. However, for items whose type and value were not declared in advance by the Guest, compensation shall be limited to a maximum of 150,000 yen, unless there is intentional misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the Hotel.

Custody of Luggage and Belongings of the Guest (Article 19)

  1. 1. If a Guest's luggage arrives at the Hotel prior to arrival, the Hotel shall take responsibility for storing it and hand it over at check-in, provided the Hotel agreed to its arrival in advance.
  2. 2. If a Guest requests the Hotel to keep their luggage or personal belongings for a certain period upon check-out, the Hotel shall take responsibility for storing them, provided the Hotel consents. However, cash and valuables will not be accepted for custody.
  3. 3. If luggage or personal belongings are left behind after check-out, the Hotel shall, as a general rule, wait for an inquiry from the owner and request instructions. If no contact or instructions are received from the owner, the items will be disposed of after 30 days from discovery (food, beverages, tobacco, magazines, damaged bags, etc., will be disposed of the day after discovery). In cases where contact and instructions are received from the owner but the items are not retrieved by the designated date, the storage period shall be limited to 90 days from the date contact/instructions were received.
  4. 4. The Hotel's liability for custody of luggage or belongings in Paragraphs 1 and 2 shall be governed by Paragraph 1 of the preceding Article. For Paragraph 3, the Hotel assumes no liability whatsoever, unless there is intentional misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the Hotel.

Liability for Parking (Article 20)

When a Guest uses a parking facility affiliated with the Hotel, the Hotel merely leases the parking space and does not assume responsibility for the management of the vehicle, regardless of whether the vehicle keys are deposited with the Hotel. However, the Hotel shall be liable for compensation if damage is caused through willful misconduct or negligence by the Hotel in managing the parking facility.

Liability of the Guest (Article 21)

If the Hotel suffers damage due to willful misconduct or negligence on the part of the Guest, the Guest shall compensate the Hotel for such damage.

Use of Networks such as Wi-Fi (Article 22)

The Hotel may provide network services such as Wi-Fi for guest convenience. Use of the network shall be undertaken at the Guest's own risk and responsibility. The Hotel does not guarantee connection speed, communication quality, or security. Furthermore, network services may be interrupted, suspended, or restricted without prior notice for maintenance or repair purposes.

Governing Law (Article 23)

Any and all disputes arising in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be resolved in accordance with Japanese laws and regulations in a Japanese court having jurisdiction over the location of the Hotel.

Governing Language (Article 24)

These Terms and Conditions are prepared in Japanese and other languages (English, Chinese [Traditional/Simplified], and Korean). In the event of any discrepancy or conflict between the Japanese text and any translated version, the Japanese text shall prevail in all respects.

Amendments to Terms and Conditions (Article 25)

  1. 1. The Hotel may amend these Terms and Conditions in the following cases by posting the amended content and effective date on its website. Furthermore, when necessary, the Hotel shall inform Guests by other appropriate means.
    1. (1) When the amendments conform to the general interest of Guests;
    2. (2) When the amendments do not contradict the purpose of the transaction under these Terms and Conditions, and are reasonable in light of the necessity of the amendment, the appropriateness of the revised content, and other circumstances regarding the amendment.

Notes
1. The accommodation charge at the time of reservation confirmation in Attached Table 2 refers to the sum of "① Basic Accommodation Charge," "② Service Charge," and "③ Consumption Tax" above.
2. If tax laws or municipal ordinances regarding accommodation tax and consumption tax are revised, the revised provisions shall apply.
3. Accommodation tax and consumption tax are calculated on an exclusive tax basis.

Notes
1. Cancellation penalty fees are calculated from the day notification of cancellation is received from the Guest.
2. Percentages represent the ratio against the accommodation charge at the time of reservation confirmation based on Attached Table 1.
3. Penalty fees may differ depending on the booking channel or accommodation plan. For details, please check the regulations of your booking site/travel agency or contact the Hotel directly.
4. If the number of contracted days is shortened, a cancellation penalty for one day (the first day) will be collected regardless of the number of days reduced.

Hotel Use Rules

To ensure that our guests enjoy a safe and comfortable stay, and to maintain the public nature of our facilities, Hotel Metropolitan Kamakura has established the following Use Rules pursuant to Article 13 of the Accommodation Terms and Conditions.
Please note that if you fail to comply with these rules, your use of the Hotel will be refused.

  1. 1. Scope of Application
    These rules apply to all users of the accommodation facilities managed by Hotel Metropolitan Kamakura (hereinafter referred to as "Hotel Facilities").
  2. 2. Fire Prevention and Disaster Prevention Rules
    1. ・ Please do not use heating or cooking appliances, or personal irons brought into guest rooms.
    2. ・ Please refrain from smoking in bed or in other areas prone to fire hazards, as well as in designated non-smoking areas.
    3. ・ Except in emergencies or unavoidable circumstances, guests are strictly prohibited from entering staff-only areas, emergency stairwells, rooftops, machinery rooms, etc.
    4. ・ Mobile power banks (portable chargers) must be used in locations where guests can constantly monitor their condition.
      In particular, please do NOT use or charge mobile power banks in the following situations:
      1. (1) Charging inside guest rooms while away or unattended;
      2. (2) Using or charging in direct sunlight;
      3. (3) Using or charging on flammable materials such as beds or sheets;
      4. (4) Using mobile power banks that show signs of damage, swelling, or overheating.
    5. ・ Please refrain from any other actions that may cause a fire hazard.
  3. 3. Use of Guest Rooms
    1. ・ Please do not exceed the designated occupancy capacity of your room.
    2. ・ Please refrain from going outside your room wearing nightwear, slippers, or swimwear.
    3. ・ Even if a "Do Not Disturb" sign is displayed during consecutive stays, Hotel staff will enter the room at least once every 3 days for safety and security inspections.
    4. ・ Please note that a facility usage fee will be added when making external calls from guest room telephones.
    5. ・ For your safety, please check the emergency evacuation route map posted on the inside of your room door and locate the emergency exits on your floor upon arrival.
  4. 4. Prohibited Items
    Please do not bring the following items into the Hotel:
    1. (1) Animals, birds, or pets (excluding assistance dogs, guide dogs, and service dogs);
    2. (2) Items generating an excessively foul or offensive odor;
    3. (3) Explosive, highly flammable, or volatile substances;
    4. (4) Unlawfully possessed firearms, swords, or knives;
    5. (5) Ordering or bringing in food and beverages from outside the Hotel is prohibited;
    6. (6) Any other items deemed inappropriate by the Hotel.
  5. 5. Gambling, acts that disturb public order or morals, or behavior causing annoyance to other guests within the Hotel are strictly prohibited.
  6. 6. Inviting visitors into guest rooms or allowing unregistered persons to stay overnight is strictly prohibited.
  7. 7. Accommodation by minors (under 18 years of age) without written permission from a parent or guardian is not permitted.
  8. 8. Guest rooms and lobby areas may not be used for purposes other than accommodation.
    Furthermore, guest rooms and lobbies may not be used as offices, commercial venues, exhibition spaces, or commercial filming locations.
  9. 9. Please do not display items near the windows that impair the external appearance of the Hotel.
  10. 10. Distributing promotional or advertising materials to other guests within the Hotel is prohibited.
  11. 11. Custody of left-behind items or laundry will be maintained for 90 days following departure, unless specific instructions are given.
  12. 12. Front Desk Services
    1. ・ Works of art, antiques, and similar valuable items cannot be accepted for safekeeping.
    2. ・ The Hotel cannot advance payments for purchases, tickets, taxi fares, postage stamps, or shipping fees.
    3. ・ Under the Act on Securing Quality, Efficacy and Safety of Products Including Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, the Hotel is legally prohibited from providing medications to guests.
  13. 13. Please store cash and valuables in the in-room safe provided during your stay.
  14. 14. Regarding Facilities and Items within the Hotel:
    1. (1) Please do not use them for purposes other than their intended use;
    2. (2) Please do not remove them from the Hotel;
    3. (3) Please do not relocate, modify, or alter them.
  15. 15. Additional fees will be charged separately from accommodation charges in the following cases:
    1. (1) When damage to or theft of Hotel equipment/fixtures is identified;
    2. (2) When special cleaning beyond normal levels is required due to food/drink spills, vomiting, blood, bodily fluids, or soil;
    3. (3) When smoking is detected outside designated smoking areas within the Hotel, special cleaning fees and room closure compensation fees (regular rate for the non-salable period) will be charged.
  16. 16. In the following cases, use of the Hotel will be terminated immediately. If the violation is deemed malicious, appropriate legal action will be taken in consultation with the police, legal counsel, and relevant authorities:
    1. (1) When acts of violence, threats, extortion, coercive unreasonable demands, or customer harassment against the Hotel are recognized;
    2. (2) When a guest is unable to ensure their own safety due to mental/physical distress, medication, or intoxication, or is deemed likely to cause danger, fear, or anxiety to other guests;
    3. (3) When loud voices, singing, or noisy behavior disturb others, or when acts violating public order, morals, or gambling occur within the Hotel or guest rooms;
    4. (4) When other acts deemed inappropriate by the Hotel are recognized.
      If you notice any suspicious persons or items, please inform the Front Desk immediately.

Environmental Request

Our hotel is actively engaged in environmental initiatives (CO2 reduction efforts). We greatly appreciate your cooperation with the following:

  1. ・ Please inform the Front Desk if room cleaning is not required during consecutive stays.
  2. ・ Please inform us if there are any room amenities you do not need replaced during stay cleaning.
  3. ・ For single-night stays, cleaning service during your stay is not provided.
  4. ・ For consecutive stays, room cleaning is provided once per night of stay. (If you have a preferred time, cleaning is conducted between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.)
